You are Reading About Me
Hi, I am Kyle Reddoch
I work in that weird overlap where managed services, cybersecurity, and general tech chaos all meet. Most days I am helping small and midsize businesses stay online, stay secure, and understand what the logs are trying to tell us instead of ignoring them until something catches fire.
Online you will usually see me as CybersecKyle, writing about security, MSP life, Eleventy, and whatever tools are currently making my workflow less painful or more fun.
What I Do
My day job is in managed services and cybersecurity. That usually means:
- Designing and tuning RMM and EDR stacks
- Hardening endpoints and networks for real world small business constraints
- Building and refining playbooks for incident response, patching, and onboarding
- Translating security jargon into language that owners and staff actually understand
I enjoy pulling messy environments into something structured and repeatable. Getting a client from “nobody knows how this works” to “we have diagrams, runbooks, and alerts that make sense” is extremely satisfying.
Things I Am Building And Writing
I like shipping things that other people can actually use, not just talk about.
- A personal blog at kylereddoch.me where I write about security, MSP operations, Eleventy, tooling, and the realities of doing this work.
- Eleventy projects and plugins, including starters and small quality of life helpers for content driven sites.
- Security templates and how-to guides that aim to make good practices feel reachable instead of overwhelming.
I care a lot about practical security. Less buzzword bingo, more “can a small team maintain this without hating life in six months”.
How I Got Here
I did not wake up one day and decide to be “in cybersecurity.” I got here by:
- Fixing everyday IT problems and noticing how often the root cause was something security related
- Seeing how fragile some small business systems really were
- Realizing that most users are not “the problem,” they simply have not been given sane tools or clear guidance
Over time I leaned harder into blue team work, threat detection, and building defenses that fit actual business workflows. I like breaking things enough to understand them, then using that knowledge to keep them running and resilient.
What You Will Find On This Site
This site is where I connect all of that:
- Security and privacy breakdowns for normal people and busy admins
- MSP and IT operations lessons, including the parts that do not make it into vendor webinars
- Hands-on Eleventy and web tooling write-ups
- Occasional posts about Apple gear, homelab tinkering, F1, and music because humans are allowed to have hobbies
If you come away from a post with one concrete thing you can try at work tomorrow, then it did its job.
