Hey, I am baffled by the high frequency and quality of your blog posts. I started blogging in March but I hold myself back a lot because of perfectionism. The first post I read from you was "Loss, and Loss, and Loss: A Eulogy" and I was moved... Keep up the good work! (:

Dan

thank you very much for supporting my project, you are very kind. you have a very interesting site, now I have something to read 😉

This is one of the most interesting and inspiring personal sites on the web at the moment. You write well, you write a lot, and you're doing it on your own site, all of which is very cool.

Hello, from Tennessee! I saw your article on Medium, "How to be taken seriously as a writer", which is what brought me here. I'm not quite at home on Medium. I really want to build my own site. I feel like a dummy, but I'm slowly digesting your "How it's made" post. With me being a beginner, I was wondering if you have any advice, aside from what you've shared in the aforementioned post? Either way, delighted to be here! Have a great day/night/time with whatever you're doing, wherever you're at! (: I shall do the same.

Thank you for laying out this information in such a concise matter. I had no idea this was as big as it is. I still had an ancient phone until 2023 and was not on the internet. I was not consuming news or tv of any kind since 2013. Long story and not relevant to this topic. I have seen many of these words, but usually in a rude comment, which I wasn't responding to, just ignoring, not usually directed at me. Recently, I came across a post of someone saying they were sick of people describing themselves as "furry". I hadn't heard that. I said so and asked what it is. The conversation was blocked and I was sent a private message explaining the meaning. It feels like my world has crashed. I had no idea people had been "disfigured" (only word I can think of that explains such broken and warped minds) so badly. I thought the platform I'm on (hey.cafe) was being overly sensitive at first, but someone shared this substack in the community. I started out being puzzled, to being angry, to being disgusted and now I'm overwhelmed. I am, however, going to try to educate people on the harm this is doing, and from now on speak out against it. Thank you for that.

Heyo, just got done reading some of your latest posts, like Schizoid man(probably couldn't pass up the rock ref) and the Good Web and ethical software articles. It's incredible how much you put out and they are fully-fledged and researched articles. Re:Schizoid I thought it was a bit humorous that like, "all this monk-like needlessness and altruism has got to stop" "Brennan needs to need things more... somehow..." Haha. I agree, it is not symptomatic of being broken. Also the lack of vices, I have felt that that too. The reward system is just in another castle. I hope you make your word counts, or what it is you're shooting for! Also seriously impressed by your community outreach!

I love the design of your site! The colors are so calming and the shapes are cute. It feels kind of cozy but still sleek and modern and so on

Hi. Brennan. Add me to your list, please.

i've just read your "https://brennan.day/how-are-we-preparing-for-the-long-web/", since i dont want to leave my website, and therefore cant "login" with it, i have to do it this way.

you mentioned that even paid hosting doesnt meant forever. this i why you should completely selfhost. port forwarding isnt as scary as it may seem. as long as you periodically update/upgrade the hardware and are alive, your website will stay up

Your website is fabulous, and is a real advertisement for the indie web. I spend a good deal of time reading your blog posts which are consummately interesting. I'll be adding you to my own small blogroll in the near future.

thank you for signing my guestbook! it makes me happy that you like my website 😃

Some wonderful thoughts on connections within the IndieWeb. I think RSS aggregation is also a nice way to create community between independent blogs. I have a project at https://artocalypse.org which does this for artists. I want to think how to make this solution more re-usable.

Hi Brennan, I'm glad to have discovered your website! I love your writing---I especially loved "To Continue with Hope" and found myself nodding in agreement to "Apathetic, Intentionally.". And your website looks stunning as well! Thank you and keep up the good work; I'll be more than happy to follow along. Best, Ruben

Lou
