Good Web Search

Good Web Search is an extension for Chromium-based browsers that automatically adjusts search parameters for better results. It currently works for Google, with some features working for Ecosia, StartPage, DuckDuckGo, Brave, and Bing.

Installation

  • Download latest release
  • Open web browser and navigate to extension page
  • Toggle “Developer mode” switch to enable
  • Drag and drop extension file onto page
  • Review extension and select "Keep this extension"

Updating

  • Download latest release
  • Open web browser and navigate to extension page
  • Drag and drop extension file onto the page

Use

Click extension icon and toggle checkboxes to turn features off and on. Disabled options are not available for current search engine.

  • "'Web' search" forces Google search to use web mode
  • "Before 2023" appends "before:2023" to search queries
  • "No AI" appends "-ai" to search queries

  • Refactor code (following the API)
