Hello! It has been a while, I will talk about why I haven't been posting as much in a bit, but first, what have I been working on?
Be warned, this is mostly talking about older projects of mine, in a not very technical fashion.
Godot
Firstly, I learned Godot! I made a few games with it, seen below. Its the first real game engine I've spent time learning, other than Pygame I guess, and I have really enjoyed it!
I made Micheal Hide and Micheal Jump for Hack Club Milkyway.
I also made Micheal Box, for the Mini Jam 200.
Micheal Hide was the first true game I've made using Godot, I used it to make an operator trainer for my robotics team once, but other than that nothing.
Micheal Jump was made very soon after Micheal Hide, and I am more proud of that than Hide, despite its short length.
Micheal Box was made during the development of Micheal Jump, for a game jam I saw, it was the first time I really participated in a game jam, and it was an interesting experience, didn't do so bad actually..
GDScript has been pleasent to work with, and so has just Godot in general.
I have tried 3d, but I do still prefer 2d, at least for now..
SvelteKit
I started using SvelteKit! Most of my web development before using it has been focused on Python using Flask, and I do still enjoy both of those of course, but have been using SvelteKit for more serious applications.
Such as, Hackclub @ NFHS's Website! This was the first major site I made using SvelteKit, and I learned to really enjoy it!
I am also working on a new project, Hackboard, an android app dashboard for Hack Club! It is being made using SvelteKit and Capacitor JS!
With HC@NFHS's website, I also have been able to use my new favorite database, Pocketbase, to its full potential! If you remember, I used it in Benchmark a few months ago, also for Hack Club funnily enough, but that was before I started using SvelteKit, so I ended up using it in a very strange way, having to translate requests to it, it worked "okay" but it wasn't a very fun experience.
Using Pocketbase the correect way, has been very enjoyable. I have had very few issues with it, its fast and reliable, despite not being fully released yet.
Where I have been
I do very much apologize for not posting as much as I wish I could, over the last few months, I have been lacking the motiviation to make any new projects, and the ones that I ended up making, I wasn't proud enough of them to actually post about.
I have some ideas in my head for what's next, so expect more posts over the next few months!
They are more focused on Hack Club, but I think they will still be interesting to non-hackclubbers.
I plan on posting one about Hackboard, when thats finished, and about an API for Hack Club I have been working on.
I have also been busy with school, as I have entered my senior year, and have been working through that.
But the main thing that has been taking up my time, I am now the leader of a Hack Club!
It has been hinted throughout this, but I started a Hack Club at my High School, Hackclub @ NFHS!
It has been a challenge getting everything working for that, and running meetings, but has been fun throughout.
The Future
I plan on posting more this year, my goal is to make up for the fact that I only posted one blog post in 2025!
I've got ideas, and renewed motivation, so more blog posts coming soon!
Thank you for reading this blog post, more to come!
(ps my resolution is to post monthly this year, so should be an improvement to the last few years)
