My journey (as you can see in my my CV so far) has been anything but a straight line. I began in 1998 as a Unix administrator, then dabbled in DJing minimal techno, I studied Sociology in Constance and, in a rather unexpected turn of events, managed a mountaineering gear shop. For nearly a decade, I ran a communication agency, where I wrote, edited and advised clients across various industries, and implemented digital tools to help them develop strategies. After that, I spent years as a social worker, assisting young people and refugees in finding their way in Germany. Now, I work in public relations for a district office, focusing on social issues.
I share all this not to brag, but because the twists and turns have been important. They have shaped how I focus.
What remains constant: I write. I also create things with my hands—I design and sew ultralight hiking gear. And I walk, long and slow, mostly in the Alps, though sometimes I explore other places. This blog is where all these elements come together.
