Scottish grid tests offshore wind for blackout recovery SP Energy Networks is trialling whether offshore wind can restart Britain’s power system after a blackout. Through the BLADE project, lab simulations will study grid restoration, system control, protection, and coordination. Findings could inform National Energy System Operator practices, where hydro dominates restart plans.
