As Permission were missing in the old Admin Account Console, I expected that when it is added in the new Admin Account Console, we will finally have some control over if the email and username should be shown on the User Profile page, but it seems it is still not working:
How to reproduce:
Go to username and/or email
Disable the "Who can edit" and "Who can view" for users for both, username and email
Enable the "Verify Profile" in Authentication --> Required Actions
Open the User Profile page (using Keycloak theme):
Hints:
username - It is controlled only from the Edit Username option in the Realm settings --> Login:
email - it stays required, doesn't matter what Permissions are configured
Expected behavior:
"Permissions" for username and email to have the same effect as for the other input fields. The only additional thing that might be done for email is to have validation for email address added and if "Email as username" and/or "Login with email" is enabled, to validate if it is filled and valid
