Hey, I'm Antonello 👋

Deveel Blog OSS

I'm Antonello Provenzano: born in Palermo (Sicily), now based in Switzerland.
By day, I'm an IT Solutions Architect at Viseca Payment Services. By night (and weekends 😄), I build and ship open-source projects.

I started coding at 10 on a Commodore 64 with BASIC snippets from a math book. Still having fun, just with bigger systems now.

What I'm about 🚀

  • Building practical software with strong architecture foundations.
  • Sharing ideas with the community, not keeping experiments in a drawer.
  • Connecting enterprise architecture thinking with real developer workflows.

Also: TOGAF certified architect, Azure Solutions Architect, and contributor to Microsoft's Well-Architected Framework (WAF).

Deveel 😈

I started Deveel back in 2001. Today it's an active non-profit initiative where I release and grow open-source projects with a community-first mindset.

The mission is simple: test useful ideas, build practical tools, and share them openly.

Explore all projects in the Deveel GitHub organization.

What I'm building now 🛠️

  • Deveel.Webhooks - A .NET framework for managing and delivering webhooks to subscribed applications.
  • Deveel.Messaging - A lightweight, extensible messaging framework for building applications integrated with various messaging channels and providers (e.g., Twilio, Facebook, SendGrid, etc.).
  • Deveel.Repository - A pragmatic framework to apply Clean Architecture principles and implement repository patterns for data access.
  • Deveel.Events - A framework for building event-driven applications, supporting event subscription, publishing, and processing with a focus on simplicity and extensibility (a successor to the original Deveel.Webhooks).

Old but gold projects 📚

  • DeveelDB - Formerly Minosse RDBMS, it was the first SQL RDBMS for .NET.
  • CloudB - A distributed database system that combined key/value, NewSQL, and graph capabilities years before Azure Cosmos DB.

Let's connect ☕

I regularly share thoughts on enterprise architecture here: antonello.provenza.no.
If you have feedback, ideas, or just want to geek out on architecture and OSS, I'm always happy to chat.
