I am an Associate Professor in USC's Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Analysis, the Director of USC's Urban Data Lab, and a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution.
My research explores the spatial outcomes of urban planning through network analysis, geospatial data science, and machine learning. It has won several awards and is regularly featured in the media. I've presented my work in keynote talks around the world and published it in journals across scientific and policy disciplines, including The Lancet Global Health, the Journal of the American Planning Association, Urban Studies, Geographical Analysis, and Applied Network Science. I developed and maintain the OSMnx street network modeling software and have served as a consultant for several planning, policymaking, and public health organizations. My CV is on Github.
