When catalog product flat is enabled product image is not available in the flat product table, thus images are never loaded. The usage of thumbail seems much more logical, since the image that is displayed in the dropdown is very small anyway.

Changed usage of product image to product thumbnail. This way, an image is displayed with enabled flat product catalog. |
