Q [Health Management Office]-[Chest X-ray] How can I receive a free chest X-ray under the Student Medical Welfare Support?
A

Students eligible for the Student Medical Welfare Support may receive one free chest X-ray in the following semester after completing the BASIC Student Health Check-up.

How to apply : Click [Chest X-ray appointment] → Make a reservation (Online only) → Visit the KAIST Clinic (E21), 1st floor reception desk with your ID card

Q [Health Management Office]-[Chest X-ray] When will the results of my chest X-ray taken at the KAIST Clinic be available?
A

Please note that it may take up to 5 days to receive the chest X-ray results after the examination.

The timing of result confirmation may vary depending on the radiology interpretation schedule.

If any abnormal findings are detected, the KAIST Clinic Health Management Office will contact you by phone.
If there are no abnormal findings, you will not receive a separate notification.

Q [Health Management Office]-[Chest X-ray] How can I get a chest X-ray for dormitory admission at the KAIST Clinic?
A

The required medical examination for dormitory admission is a chest X-ray

Students may complete this requirement by choosing one of the following two options.

 

1. BASIC Student Health Check-up

- A comprehensive BASIC Student Health Check-up including a chest X-ray (Body Measurement, InBody, Blood tests, Urine tests, Chest X-ray, Dental exam)

- How to apply : Click [BASIC Program] → Make a reservation (Online only) → Visit the KAIST Clinic (E21), 1st floor reception desk with your ID card

- Cost : KRW 50,000 (Free once per year for students eligible for the Student Medical Welfare Support)

 

2. Chest X-ray Only

- How to apply : Click [Chest X-ray appointment] → Make a reservation (Online only) → Visit the KAIST Clinic (E21), 1st floor reception desk with your ID card

- Cost : KRW 10,000 (Students eligible for the Student Medical Welfare Support may receive one free chest X-ray in the following semester after completing the BASIC Student Health Check-up)

- For a smooth examination process, please wear clothing without buttons or zippers and avoid wearing accessories such as necklaces.

Q [Health Management Office]-[Chest X-ray] Where can I obtain the chest X-ray certificate for dormitory admission?
A

You can download the certificate from the KAIST Clinic website  under the menu : [Confirmation paper output for dormitory entry]

Please note that it may take up to 5 business days for the examination result to be interpreted after the chest X-ray.
The certificate can be issued only after the interpretation is completed.

※ If the certificate is issued before the interpretation is completed, the actual examination date and the examination date shown on the certificate may be different. Please make sure to check this before issuing the certificate.

 

Q [Health Management Office]- [Chest X-ray] I had a chest X-ray at the KAIST Clinic. Will the result be automatically submitted to the dormitory system?
A

Yes. If you agree to the electronic consent for the use of personal information for dormitory admission when making your

reservation, your chest X-ray result will be automatically sent to the dormitory system.

Please note that it may take up to 7 days for the chest X-ray result to be interpreted and automatically transmitted to the dormitory system.

You can check the submission status on the KAIST Dormitory Website :

Your result is considered successfully submitted when the status shows “Approved.”

Q [Health Management Office]- [Chest X-ray] Do I need to make a reservation for a chest X-ray at the KAIST Clinic?
A

Chest X-ray examinations at the KAIST Clinic are available by online reservation through the KAIST Clinic website.

Same-day reservations may be possible; however, please note that same-day booking may not be available if all reservation slots for that date are already filled.

Q [Health Management Office]-[Submission of health examination documents] What health examination documents need to be submitted to the school?
A
Below are the required documents for submission. For further details, please follow the instructions provided by the relevant department.
 
1. Chest X-ray Results
- Documents without an official hospital seal will be considered invalid.
- Only results that indicate no tuberculosis or other infectious diseases and are issued within 3 months of the semester start date are valid.
      
2. Proof of Measles Immunity (Choose either ① or ②)
① Measles Vaccination Certificate

  - Submit if you have records of both the 1st dose and 2nd dose (2 doses).

  - If you have no record, or only the 1st dose is recorded, you must either submit an antibody test result or receive an additional vaccination and submit proof.
  - You can check and print vaccination records at: https://nip.kdca.go.kr/
 

② Measles Antibody Test Result

  - Submit if you do not have a vaccination record and do not wish to get vaccinated.
  - The antibody test must show positive results for all three components of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella).
  - If any of the results are negative or equivocal, you must receive the required vaccination and submit proof.
 

International freshmen are provided guidance by the ISSS team.

Q [Health Management Office]-[Submission of health examination documents] Is it possible to take a chest X-ray for purposes other than entering the dormitory?
A

Yes. Chest X-ray can also be tested for purposes other than entering the dormitory.(Academic reinstatement, etc.)

KAIST Clinic allows only those who make reservation on the KAIST Clinic's website to have a medical examination and chest X-ray.(ONLY website reservation).

Q [Health Management Office]-[Submission of health examination documents] Where can I get a measles vaccination certificate?
A

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency Vaccination Helper website (https://nip.kdca.go.kr) or 

Government 24 (https://www.gov.kr) can issue a certificate after you log in with the joint certificate and simple login.

Q [Health Management Office]-[Submission of health examination documents] If I take a measles antibody test and the results indicate that I am negative, what should I do?
A

If the result of the measles antibody test is negative, please receive 2 additional doses of the MMR vaccine and submit the vaccination certificate.

Starting in 2024, the Ministry of Education and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency have strengthened the management of imported measles cases.

For international students, only a positive antibody result or proof of 2 doses of vaccination is considered valid.
